Hi there! I’m Bree: Poet, Pilgrim, Ponderer of all things.
What can I tell you about myself? My mum always told me my name meant ‘Strong Flame’ – I like that. I don’t always feel strong but I try to keep my light shining.
I am an Australian; mother to three completely gorgeous children; wife to a part-time fisherman, full-time trouble-maker who loves us all well. I am so thankful for my family!
The older I get, the more I realise how very little I know. I find that thought very comforting, it takes a lot of pressure off.
In terms of faith, I would describe myself as a mystic and a wannabe-contemplative, but intrigued by science and how the natural world points to what many people call God. (I’m not a huge fan of the word ‘God’ – you probably won’t see me use it too much. It’s not a name for what I know; it’s not sacred to me. So don’t be upset — she’s not.)
I think Jesus is a pretty captivating guy, and I’m doing my best to live the way he taught, and probably not getting much right. I’m trying to focus on the ‘loving others’ bit at least.
All in all, I’m an insufferable questioner; I’m a lover of the mysteries of life and the universe; I’m a follower of rabbit holes and yellow-brick-roads; I’m an INFJ and and Enneagram Nine; I’m a curious disciple (somewhat reluctant, at times!); I’m a Believer, a Doubter, and everything in between; I’m trying to do my bit to make the world a better place
